William (Willie) Alfred Knapp

Age 75 of Kinston, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 18th at his home in Islamorada, Florida.

While he grew up in Queens Village, New York and graduated from Bishop Reilly High School in 1967; he also lived in Seattle, WA; Long Beach, NY, Jupiter, FL and finally made his home in Islamorada, FL.

He was an advent traveler starting in the Air Force and continuing his journeys with a Volkswagen bus and his high school friends, to flying and traveling anywhere there was sand and water. He truly lived his life as he wanted. Along the way, he managed to gain many lifelong friendships that he treasured more than anything.

His true passion was making others laugh, crossword puzzles, golfing, and music.

He is preceded in death by his father, William James Knapp and his mother, Mildred Sutton Knapp.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Knapp Stanley, and husband James; nieces, Donna Eason and husband Rodney, Jaime Stanley; great-nieces, Brandie Hadding and husband Alex, Kirsten Barfield; great-nephews, Joshua Stanley and David Twiford and great-great nephews Lincoln and Hampton Hadding all of them from Clayton, NC

A celebration of life will be held later by his special family – Rob and Catherine Fordyce (Kyle and Kaylee)
