Cookson, William E. "Pete" Born 6/16/1928, passed away March 11, 2012 of complications from pneumonia and dementia.
He was born in Canonsburg, PA to Charles and Ella (O'Herron) Cookson; preceeded in death by brothers Charles, John and Robert Cookson, and sisters Dorothy Cookson and Mary Helen (Cookson) Hollinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy; son Michael of Marathon, FL; daughter Michelle of Tampa, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was a coach, teacher and administrator during his 28 years with Miami-Dade Public Schools. An avid fisherman, diver and boater, he spent his retirement years traveling, relaxing and enjoying life in the Florida Keys.
His generous smile and loving heart will be missed by his family and many friends.
