Warren Arnet Peterson, III, 58, passed away June 21 at his home in Key Largo, Florida. Warren graduated from Lake Forest Country Day School, Avon Old Farms School in West Hartford, CT, and Florida International University in Miami with a degree in Hospitality Management. He loved good humor, to tell a great story, cook a great meal and hold court with his crew at “The Table”: cooking and entertaining a crowd were his passions. A natural born salesman, Warren was recognized in high school with an award that read, “You could sell ice to Eskimos”, which he probably could and did.
Warren spent years out west working in Colorado as a camp counselor, trail guide and ski patrol, and in WY and MT as a ranch hand and hunting guide. He cited “the Code of the West” for years as his guiding principles.
Warren read voraciously, always willing to share his expertise on a wide range of subjects. Any stranger was just a friend he hadn’t met yet.
He is survived by his two beloved children, Haley Elizabeth Peterson (St. Petersburg, FL) and Brody Arnet Peterson (Chicago), his parents, Warren Arnet, Jr. and Sally Quigg Peterson (Lake Forest, IL and Key Largo, FL) and his sister, Martha Peterson Shaw (Andrew), (Kenilworth IL). A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date: details will be posted as they become available.
