Steve John Krouskos passed away on Tuesday, March 18th, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve was born on October 26, 1962 in Clearwater, Florida. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Florida. He later met and married the love of his life, Kamela, in November, 1989. They cherished over 35 years of marriage together. Steve is survived by his wife Kamela; his children Brian (and his wife Nicole), Kaitlin, Stephanie (and her husband Mark), and Chase; his grandson Miles; his brother Mike; and his four-legged best friends Bailey, Rocket, and Kahlua.
Steve spent the majority of his career in public accounting. He enjoyed a wildly successful, 20+ year career at EY, where he served as the Global Managing Partner of Business Enablement. After retiring from EY in June 2024, Steve served on the Board of Vista Equity's VistaOne fund and performed independent advisory work for several private equity firms and corporations. He was known for his mentorship, dedication, incredible work ethic, and relentlessly positive attitude.
Steve was a selfless husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his optimistic outlook, sense of humor, and unwavering commitment to his family. His greatest wish was to create opportunities and experiences for his family that he did not have during his own childhood.
Steve was a certified grill master, who could cook any meat to perfection and ensured no one went hungry at family gatherings. Steve enjoyed spending time with his dogs and was notorious for sneaking them food at the dinner table, too.
Steve was a big fan of air conditioning and regularly kept the thermostat at frigid temperatures. He loved watching SEC football and was a passionate Florida Gators fan, holding season football tickets for several decades. When not watching football, he enjoyed reading and streaming hit TV shows and movies (most notably the Godfather or The Sopranos) with a nice glass of bourbon.
A Mass will be held in Steve’s honor at St. Justin Martyr on Tuesday, March 25th at 10:00am. A celebration of life event is tentatively scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 5th at 11:00am at the Ocean Reef Chapel. A reception at the Racquet Club will follow.
