Ronald Paradis of Tavernier, FL and formerly of Pocasset, MA and Lancaster, MA, passed away on February 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born in Waltham, MA to Joseph and Dorothy Paradis. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Alexandra (Laduzenski) and son Ronald of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by stepmother Carol Paradis of SC; mother-in-law Jane Laduzenski of MA; brothers Wayne (Dianne) Paradis of MA; William (Merrill) Marshall of UT; and Dana (Cathy) Marshall of MO; sisters Dorothy Paradis of AZ; Sandra (John) Wilson of MA; and Andrea (McGeath) Freeman of NC; brother-in-law Donald (Ann Marie) Laduzenski of MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron graduated from Wayland High School in Massachusetts and attended California Polytechnic State University before being drafted into the United States Army. After serving in Germany, Ron received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMASS Lowell. He was President of Automated Assemblies Corp. and Director of Automation Engineering at NYPRO Inc. He retired from NYPRO in 2002 after 42 years of service and was the longest serving employee at that time. Ron served as a member of the Board of Directors of Automated Assemblies Corp. and was the Chairman of the Board of NYPRO Asheville. He was an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Society of Plastics Industries. He traveled extensively worldwide for business and for pleasure. He enjoyed downhill skiing in New Hampshire, Vermont, Colorado, Utah, and British Columbia.
Ron also enjoyed many decades boating and fishing with numerous good friends and acquaintances on Cape Cod and more recently in the Florida Keys. He enjoyed keeping in shape and caring for his home and family. Ron took great pride in all that he did and was sure to understand every detail of each endeavor whether in work, helping friends, or recreation. Ron had a love of learning and was eager to share his knowledge and understanding of how things worked with others. Ron was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lancaster, Saint John’s Parish in Pocasset, and more recently of San Pedro Parish in Islamorada. Ron is welcomed into heaven by his mother and father, and his nephew David Laduzenski.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
