Robin Broyl

Robin Jane Combe Broyl passed away at the age of 74 on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 3:35 PM in her home in Key Largo, Florida due to complications of fungal pneumonia and acute myeloid leukemia. She was born on May 29, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Alfred Lee Combe and Charlotte Bell Platt Combe. Robin was the eldest of seven siblings.

Robin married Jack Henry Broyl Junior also of New Orleans, Louisiana on June 8, 1967. They were married for almost 54 years.  After honeymooning in Europe, they returned home and moved to Florida. They settled in Homestead, Florida where Jack got a job as a park ranger, and they lived on both Elliott Key and Adam’s Key. They purchased Dolphin Boats Company in 1974, and Dolphin Boats became known for its outstanding fishing and flats boats. They sold the boat business in 1996 and continued with the name Dolphin Fiberglass Products, Inc. building aquaculture tanks for raising fish and for research purposes. Their business remains in Homestead, Florida. They had recently (2017) taken up residence in Key Largo, Florida to be near the water for retirement.

Robin loved spending time with her family, boating, and traveling. Robin was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured her three daughters and five grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Robin was a lovely, kind, thoughtful, generous, fashionable person, with exquisite taste. She was always present for her loved ones. She was adored and looked up to by all of her family. She was a woman of many talents. She carried with her great knowledge. She had wonderful instincts and a quick wit. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed decorating her house and table for all holiday occasions.  She made running a household and business look easy. She will be greatly missed.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Lee Combe and Charlotte Bell Platt Combe, her sister Jill Marie Combe Armand, niece Meredith Lynn Toomey, brother-in-law Michael Webb Mulligan, parents in law- Jack Henry Broyl Sr. (Mae Grosch) and Shirley Veronica Broyl (Mayley).

Robin is survived by her husband Jack H. Broyl Junior.  Her daughters Lee Ann Phillips (Walter Stansfield-Phillips), Kimberly Broyl Miller (William Russell Miller), Jennifer Broyl Wunderle (Justin Wunderle). Five grandchildren Matthew Ryan Phillips, Erik Mitchell Phillips, Kendall Lauren Phillips, Jack Brody Miller, and Alfred Logan Miller. Her siblings Cynthia Lynn Combe Toomey (T. Craig Toomey), Scott McGregor Combe, Charles Tucker Combe (Nancy Combe), Julie Ann Combe Mulligan, Meredith Lee Combe Bush (Jeffrey A. Bush), Bonnie Broyl Prickett (Thomas Prickett) and brother-in-law John Rene Armand (Traci Armand) and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
