Robert Luther Jones, of Marathon died on June 8, 2010. He was born on Jan. 19, 1943 in Memphis, TN to Ida Briggs and Luke Jones. He was in the US Navy from 1960-1964 based in Damneck, VA with the submarine unit. Bob owned horses and rode in many rodeos. He owned and flew his own aircrafts. He was the President and owner of D & J Metal Fabrication in Memphis, TN until retiring to Marathon, Florida in 2000. He was a member of the American Legion in Marathon. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to sail. He is survived by his daughter Terrie (Russell) Kesler of Memphis, TN, Laura Ann Jones of Memphis, TN, Melanie Gorecki of Vista, CA, son James Patrick Jones; a sister Lynn Klee of Nicevile, Florida; a brother James (Penelope) Larson of Orlando, FL, and Frank Larson of Baltimore, MD; son in law-Jim C. Grisham of Olive Branch, MS; two granddaughters Carli and Brianna Grisham of Memphis, TN. Memorial Services will be held for family and friends on Tuesday.
