Big Pine Key

Richard Walter Wrenn Jr.

Born to Richard and Deann Wrenn

December 23 1964 Met the Lord July 14, 2024

Richard died in the woods on Big Pine key, surrounded by nature.

He had lived life on his own terms and met death the same way.

Exact date of death is unknown.

Richard loved to read his favorite book the King James Bible, he read daily.

Richard studied history. He knew about almost all wars biblically and worldly.

He enjoyed the entertainment of mythology and poetry. Richard had a true gift of telling stories and sparking the imagination of his listeners young and old. He had written many poems in his lifetime.

Richard had worked as an over the road trucker. He had visited every state in the continental US.

It was from his travels he professed his love of warm climate of Big Pine Key Fl. This is where he lived for more than 25 years before his passing.

Richard was drawn to the ocean from the time the family moved to Florida in 1975. He was an avid fisherman, kayaker, swimmer. His love for the water naturally led to him living on the water. He bought a Bertram boat. He and a Sea Gull he called Jessica resided on the water for over a decade.

Richard had as much passion for the woods and camping. He reflected on the solace of lying in his sleeping bag gazing up at the stars through the trees.

Waking in the morning he enjoyed watching the deer, racoon and other creatures start their day.

Richard felt most people put too many constraints on their lives. He wanted no part of those burdens for himself.

He was a survivalist. Perhaps not by conscious decision at first. Over many years he truly came to love the freedom and simplicity of his hard-earned way of life.

Bicycling was Richard's mode of transportation. He began riding in his teens 20-30 miles daily. This continued his whole life.

His favorite saying about cycling. "A good day riding-the wind is on my back, the sun is on my face, and no bugs got in my teeth." He had a fabulous sense of humor.

Winn Dixie on Big Pine Key is where Richard could be found daily. He had worked there the last 8 years of his life. Working or not he truly liked greeting shoppers and meeting locals. His other reason for going to the store daily was to spend time with the chickens and deer he adored.

Richard's true beliefs in Christ he shared daily through, Love, Faith and Charity.

He believed and lived the two most important commandments Christ gave. Love God, with all your heart, soul and mind. 2. Love thy neighbor, as you love yourself. (Matthew 22:36-40)

Richard loved to meet people share happiness.

A good conversation was more precious than gold to him.

Richard would gladly share his love of our Lord Jesus with anyone who asked.

Richard had little but would gladly share whatever he had, including the shirt off his own back.

Richard you were the most loving, caring and kind Son, Brother Uncle and Friend. We were very blessed to have you in our lives. We can carry on knowing you have a new " Life in Christ," and we will see you again. We love and miss you immensely.
