Richard A. Razzetti of Rye, NY, Oxford, MD and Ocean Reef, FL, died in Homestead, FL on November 29, 2014. He was born in Hoboken, NJ in 1938. The family moved to NY in 1942. He was a graduate of Chaminade High School and Georgetown University. Dick and Marlene (Schwarz) Razzetti were married at St. Mary’s Church in Roslyn on August 12, 1961. Dick was an outstanding athlete who was Georgetown’s Athlete of the Year in 1960. He competed in the U.S. Open in 1959. He was ranked nationally in the USTA. He, and his son Richard, were ranked nationally as high as 4th by the USTA in the national Father and Son Competition in 1988. He was also ranked nationally in U.S. Platform tennis.
Dick was a member of the Westchester Country Club, The Union League Club, Talbot Country Club, The Sky Club, Ocean Reef Club and Card Sound Club. He had a very successful career on Wall Street. He was a partner of Kidder Peabody. He also became a Senior Vice President of Paine Webber and then a Senior Vice President at UBS. He served on the Board of Governors of the Union League and for years was a Trustee of the School of the Holy Child in Rye.
Surviving family members are his wife, Marlene; their children: Richard A. Razzetti, Jr., of Richmond, VA; Dina (Razzetti) Clemmer of Oxford, MD; and Douglas Razzetti of Cos Cob, CT; and his brother, Captain Eugene A. Razzetti USN (ret). His grandchildren are Richard A. Razzetti III, Lauren Razzetti, John Clemmer, Lindsey Clemmer, and Miles Clemmer.
Dick leaves behind many friends who admired his wit, intelligence, and his friendliness. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY.
