Passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, Fl.

Richie was born on July16, 1939 in Sussex, N.J., the son of the late LeRoy Dunn and Agnes (Little) Dunn. Prior to making his permanent home in Key Largo, Fl. in 2001, Richie was a 25 yr. winter resident.

Richie was Mayor of Wantage Township for 2 yrs. and Committeeman for 6 yrs.
He was a life member and twice Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 2288 in Sussex, N.J. and member of Elks Lodge 1872 in Tavernier, Fl.

He was a life member, past President and Lt. Governor of Sussex Kiwanis.

Richie was very active in numerous organizations- Freemason Samaritan Lodge of Hardyston, N.J., Past Fire Chief of Sussex Fire Dept., life member of Franklin Fire Dept. Exempt, honorary member of the Pochuck Fire Dept, past Governor of Key Largo Moose Lodge 2287, and member of Pirates On the Water of the Upper Keys.

His contributions to the community included emcee and originator of Kiwanis Old Timers night, performing in Kiwanis Comedy Kapers comedy shows, emcee for Franklin Fire Dept. venison stag dinner, and calling Bingo for the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the VFW in Key Largo. His comedic talent made him an ICON in the Community.

Richie liked to collect antique cars, fly planes (was member of Airplane owners & Pilots Assoc. (AOPA), sing karaoke, cruise, ride his motorcycle, and was rarely seen without his cue stick.

He owned and operated Richard L. Dunn Co. in Wantage, N.J. for 47 yrs. He was very proud to have both sons, Larry and Wayne in the business with him. Larry remained on and managed the Company after his retirement.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry, his sons Wayne (Nicole) Dunn of Wantage, N.J., and Larry Dunn of Hamburg, N.J., his sisters Barbara Lewis of Wantage, N.J. and Laraine (Phil) Hockenberry, of Vernon, N.J., step children Michele (Jesus) Algarin and Jason Loomis, both of Wallingford, Ct., and 9 grandchildren.

Richie lived his life by his favorite sayings - "It's So Nice To Be Nice" and "I Did It My Way".
Celebration of life to be held Sunday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 1872 in Tavernier, Fl.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
