Ralph Edward Scheffler, age 79, of Key Largo, FL, formerly of Chicago, IL, died January 22, 2012.
He was born in Chicago, IL on July 14, 1932 to Edward Scheffler and Violet (Breitling) Scheffler. He attended Lane Tech HS in Chicago and Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and served in the U.S. Army. He was project superintendent for several of the major construction companies in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York over a forty-five year career. The skyline of Chicago is beautified with many hotels, high rise apartment buildings, and office buildings that Ralph helped erect. It was his dream to retire in the Keys, which he did in 2004.....he always called it his paradise...not only because of the beautiful water and beautiful sunshine, but because we have the best friends in the world!
He leaves behind his loving wife Rori Scheffler of Chicago, IL; son Glenn (wife Sandra) Scheffler of Winfield, IL; daughter Dawn Mobley of Davie, FL; brother Lawrence (wife Janice) Scheffler of Santa Barbara, CA; 3 nieces; 6 Grandchildren: Michael, Luke, Zack, Scott, Danielle and Domique; Great-granddaughter Ava Victoria Scheffler; and he is deeply missed by the four-legged loved ones: Sugar, Cyranno, Pepper, and Lynx.
