Patrick Gonzalez, aka Kiko, was born in Manhattan NY on May 15, 1962. Made in America by Cuban parts, mother Nereida Suarez Gonzalez and father Rudolfo Gonzalez. Even though his stay in NY was not that long, he happily recalls various memories from that time like sledding on the Riverbank of the Hudson River, his school days at All Hallows, getting knocked unconscious saving his mom's van ( that she used to bused kids to school) from crashing down a steep hill, and dropping toys out of the apartment window.
The family moved to Miami and that's when he fell in love with fishing, starting out in the Miami River. He excelled at baseball. He was one the best batters and short-stop players. His league beat everyone!
He joined the army in 1975 and served 2 terms, obtaining Honorable discharge and medals in his field of electronics. After the Army he began using his skills for over 25 years at Boston Scientific and Noven Pharmaceuticals as quality inspector, receiving many certificates and recognition for excellence. In his last professional job as a social service employee with Monroe County in the Florida Keys, he found great pleasure servicing the public and helping those in need.
Besides his wife Karen, Patrick is survived by his brother Rudy and sister-in-law in Clara, sister Patricia, nephews Maurice, Julio "JR, Rudy Jr, Jordan, and niece Ashley. His mom, Nereida passed just 5 months before his passing.
His life graced us all with his kind soul, intelligence, love of music and laughtor.
Peace Be with you.
