Patricia “Patti” (Ayers) Lumb, né Cockerham, of Tavernier, FL, formerly of Shelbyville, IN, died on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Plantation Key Nursing Center. She was 84 years old. She was born on July 26, 1932 in Shelbyville, IN. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950. Patti is survived by two sisters: Lois Davids and Jeane LeClerc; seven children: Cindy Shrader, Dana Ayers, Toni Bennett, Kevin Ayers, Melanie Workman, Jon Ayers and Patrick Ayers; two step children: Gary Lumb and Karen Porter; 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Dr. William K. Lumb of Tavernier, FL. A brother, Edwin Cockerham, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held in Shelbyville, IN time and date yet to be determined. Memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s name in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s research foundation of your choice.
