Served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946. Past charter member and Commodore of the "Three Rivers Yacht Club", charter member and past president of the Addison Rotary in IL; former CEO of Hire-Nelson Company,Inc. in Addison, IL. Current member of Marathon Yacht Cluhb, San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon and Ascension of Out Lord Church in Oakbrook Terrace. IL. Interment of cremains in Queen of Heaven in Hillside, IL.
Beloved husband of Lucile Gilbert nee: Miles, father of Kathleen Stall of Marathon, FL grandfather of Bill Probatzels of Rosella, IL, and the later Merle Stall; great grandfather of Athena J. Huteson. Brother of deceased Harry Schwan, Sarah Singer, William, Robert, Patrick and James Gilbert; fond uncle many nieces and nephews.
