Mary Dottl

February 14, 1947 — April 7, 2015

Dottl, Mary Patricia of Brooklyn, WI, passed away on April 7, 2015. Mary was born Mary Patricia Dvorak on February 14, 1947, a Valentine baby, in Madison, WI. She attended McFarland Wisconsin High School. Mary was a very giving person, she sent cards for every occasion- holidays, birthdays, sickness, weddings- you name it! She was a people person, avid bowler, golfer, card player and a wiz at internet games. Mary was a great traveler and loved to see new places- Europe, South America, United States on golfing vacations. She enjoyed it all. Mary was a shoe, purse, and sandal lover! Yikes! She loved her winter home in Key Largo, FL and engaging with her Rock Harbor Club extended family. Our thanks to our condo friends for the wonderful times and to Father Healy, a great and loving friend, for all their warmth and friendship which we felt in our hearts.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of forty eight years; son Thomas and his wife Patricia; grandchildren: Lexi, (Skippy), Zack, Tia (Guppy), and extended family Tami and Cal and their children Colton, and Shelby (Scooter) Phanke; brother Bob and his wife Betty Dvorak; sister Helen (Don) Staley and many nephews and nieces and more friends that can be named; last but not least, by her horse Homer who she truly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen (Toots) and Jack Dvorak and her brothers John, Dick and Tom Dvorak.

Many thanks to the staff at Baptist Health Miami, FL; the nurses at Baptist Tavernier, FL; and all the staff at Paul Carbone Cancer Center, Madison, WI.

Mary has been cremated in Key Largo, FL. Mary’s wishes were to have a “celebration of life” on the farm with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to a Memorial in her honor for years of volunteering at Susan G. Komen for the cure, 8030 Excelsior Drive, Madison, WI, 53717. I think Mary has every pink thing related to cancer. She loved the girls at Komen. Mary also helped her husband Peter with decisions at their business “Ideal Body Shop” in Madison. Mary fought a long, hard and tough battle for seventeen months with her lung cancer. She was a trooper throughout and we will all miss her quick wit and humorous conversation. I love you Mary. Papa
