Lucille Berkeyheiser Celmer, age 93, of Plantation Key, FL, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018. Lucille was born in Trenton, NJ on September 20, 1924 to Edward J. and Mary Ann (nee Wood) Berkeyheiser. She attended Drexel and Rutgers universities and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Lucille was an expediter for Eastern Aircraft during World War II, and a lifetime member of the Whitehorse Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
After moving to the Florida Keys, Lucille was the founder of the Reefside Stables in Islamorada, FL, an avid horsewoman and owner of many show horses. She was also a local real estate investor, and a founder and lifetime member of the Upper Keys Sailing Club.
She married Philip R. Celmer, Jr. in Trenton, NJ on March 11, 1944. He passed away in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marcie Ann Celmer.
She is survived by her children: Col. Philip R. Celmer (USAF Retired) of Wareton, NJ; Richard K. Celmer of Plantation Key, FL; and Cynthia Celmer Tomassetti, of Jacksonville, FL; as well as 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
