Louis Boss

Louis John Boss, age 80, passed away on February 25, 2016, peacefully at his home in Islamorada, Florida.

Louis is survived by his wife Betty; daughter Christine Boss-Misuraca(Tony ); sons: Thomas Boss (Lillian), Louis R Boss (Debi), and Leonard Boss (Denise). Stepchildren: Barbara Witcher-Campbell, Billy Witcher (Rima), Brian Witcher (Lisa), and Barry Witcher.  Grandchildren: Rosa Misuraca, Danielle Boss, Samantha Boss, Joseph Boss, James Hopfer, Emily Cavanah, Chris Campbell, David Campbell, Grace Witcher, Leila Witcher and Ryan Witcher, Jason Witcher, Caitlin Homes and Cassidy Cox.  Louis had three brothers: Bill, Charles Robert, and Burt.  Sisters: Grace, Myra, and Roseanne.  He was predeceased by his sister Martha.

Louis was predeceased by his first wife, Jo-Ann Boss who passed away on June 17, 2000. Louis and Jo-Ann were married 46 years.  Louis moved to Islamorada, Florida to fulfill his dream of fishing and living in the Keys.  It was there that he met and married Betty and a new larger family was born.  Louis and Betty enjoyed their friends, children and grandchildren along with some traveling.  It was truly a wonderful life.

Louis worked as a carpenter for 40 years in New York and retired from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters in 1998.  He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and a Navy Veteran.  He was active in his Condo Association and enjoyed his friends and neighbors.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Noon ( Keys Times) at Plantation By The Sea Condo on Plantation Key.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Florida Keys.
