Capt. Kerry Zilla Price, passed away August 19, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. Born December 25, 1953, the Cappy was a native Floridian and a 40 year resident of the Florida Keys. A truly larger than life character who touched all with his boundless humor and off kilter philosophy. Zilla was a natural born story teller whose ability to command the attention of everyone in the room was only rivaled by his skill as a captain and fisherman. A master angler and mariner, who thrilled and delighted thousands of clients, customers and friends with his ability to turn an ordinary fishing expedition into a high seas adventure. No one who met the Captain would ever forget him.
Kerry was predeceased by parents Lewis Elliott and Marjorie Ellen. He is survived by loving companion, Anita Muxo; daughter, and light of his life, Stephanie Medeiros (Jonathan) and granddaughter Aubrey; sister Cindy Goldberg (Michael) and niece and nephews: Jenny, Ryan and Alex; brother Scott (Beverly) and nieces: Hilary and Erin; brother Patrick (Maria) and nephew and niece Lewis and Molly; and brother Michael (Ethel) and nieces: Erika, Katie, Kristy and Zoey.
Viewing will be held Friday, August 23, at Allen-Beyer Funeral Home, 101640 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL, from 6:00-9:00pm, prayer service at 8:00pm. The family also invites friends to gather for a celebration of life on Saturday, August 24, 1:00-5:00pm at Lazy Days Restaurant, 79867 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL.
