John Sundquist

John E. Sundquist "Pops" of Northbrook, Illinois and Key Largo, Florida died April 22, 2021 at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Sundquist (nee Pasternak), the loving father of John (Dawn) Sundquist, and Pamela (Scott) Caputo, cherished grandfather to Mark, Jessica, Austin, Nicholas, Joey, Shelby and Sophie, dear great grandfather to Joshua and Jesse and loving and good friend to all.

He serve with the National Reserves and he was a loyal employee of Illinois Bell for over 45 years. He was also an active member with the Isaac Walton League of America and Northbrook Civic Foundation for over 40 years. He established a fishing derby for the Northbrook community along with planning of the 4th of July festivities, Pancakes in the Park and Northbrook Days.

He enjoyed his grandchildren to the fullest and was their biggest cheerleader. When he wasn’t watching them play football and baseball or playing cards, he was entertained with their fishing stories. He also loved to fish, play golf and make flies for fly-fishing. He was an avid stamp collector, warrior of recycling and helping our Earth, loved his dogs and martinis. Life will not be the same without him.
