John Cheleotis born August 1, 1929 in Miami, Florida.
A proud Marine who served in the Korean War 1950-1953, recipient of 2 Purple Hearts and numerous other medals as a Staff Sargent marched away on the 4th of July 2021.
He was a devoted father, avid hunter and fisherman, lucky card player, loyal, caring and generous friend and great storyteller. He remained the top salesman for True Manufacturing throughout his entire career.
It would be incredibly difficult to condense his large life into a few paragraphs. He said it best …“A lot of who I am, and what I believe in, is because of the experiences I’ve had in my life. I’ve come a long way from meager beginnings and made the most of my abilities that God has given me. I did it my way”
He is survived by his loving children Lu (Ray) Murray, Joni (Steve) Hodgson, Johnny (Renee) Cheleotis, Trisha Champion, Nickole (Andy) Gilliam, step daughter Kelly (John) Nation, and daughter in law Lourdes Choi Cheleotis.
Adoring grandchildren Travis (Jennifer) Murray, Shawnda (Billy) Thompson, Blake (Stephanie) Hodgson, Michael (Miranda) Hodgson, Brandon (Brandy) Cheleotis, Kyle (Elizabeth) Cheleotis, Heather (Judson) McDowell, Sephie Gillam, Nicholas Nation and many great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends. Brother in law Roy Castillo. Lunch buddy Jeff Jacobs.
He was preceded in death by his son Mark Cheleotis, parents Tassos and Olga Corfias Cheleotis, brother George Cheleotis, sisters Athena Cheleotis, Anna Anerine, Helen Cheleotis, and Bonnie Castillo.
He gave generously to almost every charity, so in lieu of flowers you are invited to give to a charity of your choice in his name or honor.
