John Mark Butler (Mark) passed away Thursday, September 1st, 2022. He was born July 6,1952 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen Butler, daughter Chloe Butler, and sister Linda Perry along with her children & grandchildren.
Mark sold seafood and fished commercially along the North Carolina coastline prior to moving to the Florida Keys 34 years ago. In the Keys, he sold seafood, worked for Deer Park Water and Arnold Bread, and retired from working at The Trading Post in Islamorada. Mark also owned a small business called Urban Forest Recycling where he salvaged and milled local hardwoods, saving them from being wasted. His appreciation for the ocean brought him to the beach in Lower Matecumbe almost every day. His family and friends will miss his good stories and sense of humor.
