John James Boyce, Jr. (Jack) passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Mariners Hospital, Tavernier, Florida.
Jack was born in Middletown, New York on April 19, 1924. In 1969, Jack and his wife Bette visited Key Largo, Florida; they loved the fishing and warm weather and settled there. He will be remembered in his early years by serving his country in the Navy, motorcycle travels across the country, being a "gentleman" farmer, and building up the Boyce Excavating Company. After retirement, you would find him fishing, or on the bicycle path all over Key Largo visiting his favorite coffee shops.
He is predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Bette, and is survived by his six children: sons, Garry Sr. and his wife Jeanne of Charleston, South Carolina; Michael and his wife Debbie; Neil Richard; and John III and his wife Connie all of Key Largo; two daughters, Michele Horan of Howells, New York; and Lisa Eager and her husband George of Williston, Florida; Nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren will continue to carry on the Boyce traditions passed down from their "Pepere".
Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
