Jeannine E. (Mazza) Nightingale, age 91, of Key Largo, Florida, died Friday, April 18, 2025. Jeannine was born on February 28, 1934 in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania to the late John and Isabelle (Vaglietti) Mazza. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania in 1952. After high school Jeannine completed nurses’ training and began employment at Woodville State Hospital as a psychiatric nurse. She married Thomas D. Nightingale on November 14, 1963. She retired after 25 years of employment at Woodville. At retirement, she and her husband, Tom, relocated to Key Largo, Florida where they enjoyed every day of retirement and made many friends. Jeannine was an active member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the The Women’s Club, and worked in the parish office. She was a lifetime Pittsburgh sports fan, always cheering on the Pirates and the Steelers. She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Thomas D. Nightingale, her sister, Eileen (Mazzacavallo) Kaltenecker, and her very dear friend and travelling companion, Corydon Himmelberger. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Gail (Mark) Schmitt, James R. Kaltenecker, Thomas G. Kaltenecker, Mark A. (Jacqueline) Kaltenecker, Lisa A. (Bryan Holbrook) Kaltenecker, and Paul A. (Lori) Kaltenecker; 13 great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Jeannine’s kind, fun loving and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, April 25, at 10:00am at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 105500 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, FL 33037. She will be cremated and interred in the columbarium at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church.
