Jeanne Ann (Bartlett) Kavanagh
Jeanne Ann Kavanagh, age 72, died suddenly at her home in Key Largo, FL on November 17, 2014.
She was born to Harold “Mike” and Mildred (Jackson) Bartlett on July 14, 1942 in Sparta, WI. Jeanne married Dermott Michael Kavanagh in St Patrick’s Church, Sparta, on November 30, 1963.
Following her graduation from Sparta High School, Jeanne went to St. Joseph School of Nursing in Chicago where she received her degree as a registered nurse. She then started her career of nursing in various Chicago hospitals and eventually was in charge of the infirmary and health education in several national banks in the Chicago area.
Jeanne went at life head on. She approached any interest with a passion and curiosity that inspired those around her. She especially enjoyed weaving, knitting, skin diving, tennis and swimming every day. One of her greatest passions was genealogy. Jeanne did a massive amount of research and traced her mother’s side of the family to a small town in Germany. She continued to research her dad’s ethnicity and had traced it from New England to Canada. She was still deeply involved in researching the family’s origins at the time of her death. She was happiest living in the sunshine of Key Largo and had a group of friends from the condo complex and church that she called her “Florida family”. Jeanne was immensely proud of her daughter Katherine and her family. She enjoyed and always looked forward to her many visits with her grandson Nicholas and granddaughter Hayley.
She is survived by her daughter Katherine Daloia, son-in-law Michael Daloia and grandchildren Nicholas and Hayley Daloia all of Buffalo Grove, IL; her sisters Sally (Tony) Krzmarzick of Coon Rapids, MN, Barb Olson, and Alice (Steve) Hagen of Sparta, brother-in-laws Gary Friedl, Angelo Sibilano, William Kavanagh, and Michael (Debbie) Kavanagh. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dermott, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister Mary Jane Friedl, brother-in-law Thomas Kavanagh, sister-in-laws Helena Sibilano, Mary Zani and niece Mary Ann Zani.
