Janet Lawliss

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that Jan Lawliss passed away last week. Many of you knew her not only as a gifted artist, but also as a warm, kind-hearted woman who was on hand almost every Sunday morning with a smile and a warm greeting for everyone. Jan was an original member of Unity of Marathon, and her presence was something to which I looked forward during my short tenure as Senior Minister. As her neighbor at the Minister's residence in Cocoplum, she and I would share conversation, chores, and an occasional glass of wine, and her absence will most certainly be felt.

Information is somewhat obscure at this time, but please rest assured that we are working towards resolving this gap so that we can effectively plan a Celebration of Life Service and Memorial Ceremony in Jan's honor. If you know of someone who would like to be made aware of Jan's departure, please forward this email to them, as it has been almost two years since this email list has been used, and we want to be sure to inform all the hearts Jan's light and art have touched.

Please let me take this opportunity to invite all of you - irrespective of any circumstances - to reach out to those friends and family members who have weighed on your hearts and minds of late. Call them, and let them know how you feel.
