WOISCHWILL, JAMES KIRBY, 84, died Monday evening April 16, 2012. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. Kirby was born on November 16, 1927 in Miami, to Estelle and James A Woischwill. He lived in Miami most of his life but enjoyed his years in retirement as a resident of Key Largo. Kirby enlisted in the Navy and served three years in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters before the end of WWII, and another four in the Naval reserves. He was a proud graduate of the University of Miami. Kirby also worked for the IRS. Later, as a Special Agent in the Intelligence Division of the U.S. Treasury Department, he supervised the operations of the Miami office. Following his retirement and relocation to Key Largo, he went to work again managing the business affairs of a local copier company. Kirby will be remembered as a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and friend. Although a dedicated and tireless worker, he always made time for his family and others. Intermixed with business, Kirby was a lifelong outdoors man, with a strong passion for fishing and boating that he passed along to his sons.
Kirby is survived by his loving wife Martha Ann Woischwill, his sons Craig Woischwill and Phillip Woischwill, daughter-in-law Deborah Woischwill, and grandson Matthew Woischwill. They will all miss him greatly.
Visitation will be from 11am till noon Saturday, April 21, with a funeral service to immediately follow at Allen-Beyer Funeral Home, 101640 Overseas Hwy., Key Largo, FL 33037.
