Jim was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on January 11, 1942 to his mother Blanche and his father, also named James, followed by his younger brother, Arthur. In 1961 at the age of 19, Jim married his wife of 59 years Maryann Glidden in Edison, New Jersey.
