Edward Leigh Sheets, 68, died on December 18, 2009, of ALS. A United Airlines pilot for 27 years and Cheeca's golf pro during his retirement. Edward had lived in the Keys, in Key Largo and then Islamorada, since 1983. He is survived by his wife, Linnea; children, David Bobst and wife Linda Walker of Deerfield Beach, John Harding and wife Connie Harding of Tequesta, Florida, and Linda Tonnies and husband Keith Tonnies of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister Faye Thompson and husband Allan Thompson of Meeting Creek, Alberta, Canada; sister Lynn Sheets of Alberta, Canada; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all. A memorial service in his honor will be held after the holidays. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.
