Dorothy Ray Replin, age 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2016, due to age related causes. She was born in Houston, TX on April 28, 1917 to Joe and Fannie (nee Gerson) Levinson. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor in Zoology, and was a member of Delta Phi Epsilon. She also lived in Los Angeles, CA and Denver, CO where she worked as a teacher and in retail, eventually retiring from Denver Dry Goods Company. She was also elected Miss Blue Bonnet Belle. Her hobbies included playing bridge, and she loved to dance, “her dance card was always full”. She married Henry Replin on May 14, 1941 in Houston, TX, and enjoyed her life as a housewife. Dorothy and Henry were married for 63 years. She was preceded in death by Henry in 2003, daughter Frances (Tom) Flaherty in 2013, sisters Rosalie Joseph and Gertrude Lewis, as well as nephews Fred Lewis, Jerry Korklin, and niece Abby Replin.
She will be missed greatly by her two children, Chloe (Bernard) Shwayder of Key Largo, FL, and Sam (Leslie) Replin of Bend, OR.
Her ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date, and memorials may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
