Dennis Norman Malzacher, Sr., age 63, of Key Largo, FL, passed away on June 15, 2014, after a battle with cancer. He was born in La Crosse, WI on May 10, 1951, to Norman and Lillian Malzacher. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, moved to Key Largo in 1981 from La Crosse via Miami Beach, and retired from United Parcel Service as a delivery driver with over 25 years of service. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church. He volunteered as a Little League coach for over 20 years and was on the Board of Directors with the Upper Keys Athletic Association.
He is survived by his ten children: Cdr. Dennis (Rebecca) Malzacher, Jr., of Hawaii; Joseph (Jennifer) Malzacher of Jacksonville, FL; Fr. Craig Malzacher of Miami, FL; Nicholas (Michelle) Zachery of Lancaster, PA; Michael Malzacher of Miami, FL; Jodeeann (Amine) Kayati of Baltimore, MD; Stephen Malzacher of Key Largo, FL; Jan-Michael Malzacher of Key Largo, FL; David Malzacher of Lancaster, PA; and Rozina Malzacher of Orlando, FL.
He is also survived by their mother, Maryrose Malzacher; his parents, Norman and Lillian Malzacher; brothers: Michael (Anna) and James (Csilla) Malzacher; sisters: Patricia Malzacher and Sheryl (Jerry) Benish; 11 Grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
A Wake will be held on Thursday, June 19, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with Prayer Service to begin at 5:30 p.m., at Allen-Beyer Funeral Home, 101640 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church, 105500 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL. His ashes will be interred at the St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church Columbarium at a later date.
