Cordelia Ann Houran, 87, of Key Largo, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 27, 1937, in Chicago, IL, Cordelia graduated valedictorian of her class at Park Forest, high school Illinois in 1956. Cordelia married her soulmate, Daniel Benjamin Houran, on December 21, 1957. Their nearly 67 years together were filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. They moved to Florida in 1969 and made Key Largo their home in 1973.
Cordelia was the heart and soul of her family. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She is survived by her loving husband Daniel(Bud), their three daughters; Cynthia, Christine, and Polly, her 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and her sister Diana. Each of them held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Patricia and her brother Andrew, whose memories she held dear.
Known for her gentle spirit and unwavering love, Cordelia’s home was always a haven of laughter, stories, and the warmth of her care. She found joy in the simple things and was a comforting presence to all who knew her.
Cordelia’s legacy lives on in the many hearts she touched. Though she will be dearly missed, her memory will forever bring comfort and joy to those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 4th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Allen-Beyer Funeral home.
The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable life.
