Charles "Chuck" Walsh

Charles "Chuck" Edward Walsh Sr., 81, passed away on May 7, 2021 from his home in Key Largo, Florida to the eternal fishing grounds in the sky.  He will be dearly remembered for his cantankerous charm and self-deprecating humor.  He began life with a head start in Omaha, Nebraska when the doctor noticed Chuck was "running out of womb" and delivered him to parents John Thomas Walsh and Erma May (Green) Walsh on March 13, 1940.  At an early age, he moved with his family to Santa Monica, California where he started school.  He continued his stellar track record at Loyola High School of Los Angeles where he made many lifelong friends including Charles (Chuck) Amico, Fernando (Nano) Villar and Michael (Mike) Carpenter.   He frequently recalled with fondness the hijinks and escapades he got up to with his friends, class of 1958.
After completing basic training in the Marines, he pursued his dream of being an aviator by graduating flight school and becoming a captain for World Airways.  After six years, he decided to further his career at American Airlines and flew with them until he retired in the year 2000.  He spent his final years fishing in the Keys and recovering from years of raising five children and putting them through college.  He gave his children, sons-in-law and grandchildren many happy memories of fishing, snorkeling, wakeboarding and waterskiing with Dad/Grandpa on his boat.  He was the best father a child could have and self-sacrificing to a fault in his devotion to the care and comfort of his loved ones.  He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly Aileen Walsh; his daughter Kerry Arlene Hall, her husband Ivan (Burt) Burmount Hall Jr., and their children Kylee Morgan Hall, Kenzie Rose Hall and Ivan Burmount Hall III; his daughter Erin Kay Walsh Hollingsworth, her husband Charles Thomas Hugh Hollingsworth, their son Thomas Charles Hollingsworth and her stepdaughters Beckett Laurelle Hollingsworth and Kalena Jewel Hollingsworth; his daughter Deena Marie Andreotti and her husband Mark Luciano Andreotti; and by his son Charles (Chuck) Edward Walsh Jr.
He was predeceased by his parents, by his brother John Thomas Walsh and by his sister Donna Lee Kochheim.
