Carrol Ann "Nager" John, 79, of Dingman's Ferry, PA and Marathon, FL (formerly of Yaphank, NY) She died Tavernier, FL on Feb 8, 2010. She was born in Queens, NY on August 7, 1930 and grew up in Hollis, NY. She attended Andrew Jackson High School in St. Albans, NY and received a diploma from Patchogue High School.
She is the beloved wife of Edward Charles John, whom she married on February 22, 1947 in St. Albans, NY. They lived for many years in Yaphank, NY, where Carrol drove a school bus for the Middle Island Central School District, transporting developmentally challenged students. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Yaphank Fire Department. Carrol and her husband hand built their log home in Dingman's Ferry,PA, where they have enjoyed living for the past 20 years. She was an avid crocheter, and especially liked crocheting for all the babies in her life. She enjoyed reading, the beach, rides in the countryside and spending winters in Florida. she loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandbabies who were an immense joy in her life.
She was predeceased by her parents Henry Adam Neger and Anna Falkner of Yaphank, NY, a sister Catherine & John (Charlie) Fedden of Santa Ana, CA, a brother Edward & Helen Neger of Bridgeport, CT, a brother Henry & Edna Neger of Massapequa, NY, a sister Helen & Walter Enold of Yaphank, NY, and her grandson Christopher Michael Kane in 2008, of Jacksonville, FL
She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 63 years Edward Charles John of Dingman's Ferry, PA and Marathon, FL; her daughter Linda Kane & J.R. Jones of Marathon, FL; son Robert & Karen John of Dingman's Ferry, PA; daughter Donna & Victor Van Jahnke of Dingman's Ferry, PA; grandson Mark & Donna Kane of Covington, GA; granddaughter-in-law Terri Kane of Orange Park, FL; grandaughter Cortney Van Jahnke of Manhattan, NY; grandson Chad & Allison Van Jahnke of Dingman's Ferry, Pa; grandson Colin Van Jahnke of Dingman's Ferry, PA; grandson Robert Adam John of Dingman;s Ferry, PA; great step-granddaughter Trista Miller of Orange Park, FL great grandson Michael Christopher Kane of Orange Park, FL; great granddaughters Georgia Grace Kane of Covington, GA; Halley & Julia Van Jahnke of Dingman's Ferry, PA; great great step-grandson Trenton Miller of Orange Park, FL.
