On February 5, 2014, Bruce Kavanagh Hopping departed this life in Plantation, FL after an extended illness. Born on August 28, 1944 in Rochester, MN at the Mayo Clinic, Bruce was raised in New Jersey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. For the past 30 plus years, Bruce was a career professional in the hospitality industry. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Richard A. Hopping and Joan Kavanagh Hopping, he is survived by his brother Richard Kavanagh Hopping-Larsen and brother in law Edward Larsen-Hopping, his sister Melissa Anne Hopping Miller and his uncle Bruce Stuart Hopping. Burial at sea to be facilitated by the Coast Guard. The family prefers donations be made to VNA and Hospice of the Florida Keys, Inc. 92001 Overseas Hwy, Tavernier, FL 33070 in recognition of their compassionate care.
