Bruce S. Harris, age 80, of St. Charles, MO, passed away on April 1, 2022. He passed away in Key Largo, FL unexpectedly.
Bruce was born in St. Louis, MO to Allen and Electa (Hoffmann) Harris. He grew up in the Normandy area with his brothers David and Steve Harris. He graduated from Normandy High School and attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL to become an Electrician. This sparked his passion for running his own successful General Contracting business throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles areas for many, many years. We aren’t sure he officially retired. If you knew Bruce you know his passion for helping people and finding a way to MacGyver his way to a solution using any parts or objects he collected or could find.
Bruce enjoyed the great outdoors in any capacity and spent many years as an active member of Boy Scout Troop 971 helping lead and guide the troop. He was a member of the Woodsmen Life organization in the St. Charles area. While in Missouri when Bruce wasn’t working you could find him hunting, boating or fishing. Bruce and Shirley became snowbirds about 20 years ago and enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle Key Largo offered with great passion.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Steve Harris. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Bettin) Harris; children Mark (Amy) Harris, Kim (Chris) Brady, and Kathy (Keith) Harris; grandchildren Madison Harris, Lindsey Harris, Sloane Brady and Sullivan Brady as well as his brother Dave (Carol) Harris and sister-in-law Addah Harris and nieces.
