Boyd H. Walker, Jr.
Boyd H. Walker, Jr., of Key Largo Florida, passed away on January 29, 2012 after a long illness at the age of 52. He was the son of retired Attorney Boyd H. Walker, Sr. and the late Mary E. Walker of Allentown, PA. He is survived by his wife of almost 16 years, Vicki, his father, a sister Attorney Susan O'Donnell (Frank), a sister Mary E. Ruch, a stepson K. Chad Lackey (Danielle) and their two children, a nephew and two nieces. He was a graduate of Moravian Academy of Bethlehem, PA., a graduate of Lafayette College of Easton, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and received a Master's Degree from the University of Virginia of Charlottesville, VA. His past place of employment was at Newport News Shipbuilding where he worked on the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). He thereafter accepted employment at Turkey Point Nuclear Plant of Florida Power and Light in 1997 where he last worked as a Principle Engineer until he was hospitalized in October 2011. His interests included boating, fishing and golf. A private memorial service is being held. In lieu of flowers, the Walker family requests donations be made in memory of Boyd to one of their favorite charities: Coastal Conservation Association Florida (CCA Florida) or to the American Cancer Society Upper Keys Relay for Life.
