Art Williams, 82, peacefully passed away at his Tavernier home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 8, 2012.
He was born October 17, 1929, in Atlantic City, NJ. He later lived in Brigantine, NJ. He was soul owner of Art Williams Posters and Displays for 30 years and was a Captain for Captain Starn's on the Julia C in Atlantic City, NJ. He was an avid fisherman and scuba diver.
He and his wife traveled every fifty state via motorhome ultimatly retiring to the Florida Keys. He induldged his passion for the water by captaining sightseeing tour boats in Key Largo.
By his side in his final hours was his wife of almost 63 years Joan "Sweetie-face"; his beloved daughters, Anne Marie Bush, Margie Hess (Ron); and his cherished son, Jim Williams; his daughter-in-law, Debbie; and his grandson, Ryan Emerson Bush, whom he raised as his own son. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha, Joy, Kimberly, Holly, and Jamie; and his great grandsons, Douglas and Bradley.
Having served in the Army during World War II, he shared his love of God and country with everyone. He proudly flew his American flag taking the time to fly it at half-mast for the passing of every lost service memeber. Art will be remembered as an honest man, willing to share his time, a story and a sip of Jack Daniels. His remains will be scattered as per his detailed intrsuctions.
