On Friday, September 28, Adeline Haber at the age of 97, passed into the arms of Jesus from her home, where her granddaughter, Laurie Zumer, took good care of her since 2006. Laurie, her spouse Danny, and their son Nicholas, learned a lot about her throughout these years. Although several social workers believed she should be placed in a nursing home, her loved ones promised that she would be taken care of at home. That promise was fulfilled, as she peacefully passed in her sleep, which was her heartfelt desire.
Adeline loved the Lord, her family, her Church and her many friends from St. Justin the Martyr, which she attended and was active through since the 1970's. She was a prayer warrior par excellence. Her many accomplishments include her as a businesswoman and real estate broker, a restaurant owner and a wonderful cook, as well as a faithful music minister and organist at her previous church.
Adeline was one of four brothers and three sisters, all of whom are now deceased. Her son, Scott Horschel, also predeceased Adeline.
Adeline is survived by her daughter Robyn Horschel (and her spouse John), along with their two children, Laurie Zumer (and her spouse Danny Zumer) and Marcus Horschel (and his wife Sarah). She is also survived by her son Joseph Haber, and his four children: Cindy Coulter, Samantha Jo Haber, Charles Allen Haber, and Leo Daniel Haber, as well as by their 22 great-grandchildren.
The Holy Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 15, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church, in the main church, at 105500 Overseas Highway, Key Largo.
Flowers and other donations may be sent and made to St. Justin the Martyr Church.
